The Ford 6.0L PSD has suffered from a phenomenon called
"stiction," which is caused by the spool valve sticking
in the valve body. This condition causes extremely
hard starts when cold as well as poor performance until
the engine reaches operating temperature. To help
address this issue electrically, Ford introduced a new
strategy for their FICM which uses inductive heating
to heat the spool valves through the use of electric
current during cold operation. While this helps to
reduce the cold start symptoms, the core of the problem
is improper lubrication properties in the engine oil.
Rev-X helps overcome this particular issue and offers
improvement in both cold starting and cold operation
